Our mission is to educate and raise awareness of the issues and struggles for survival of Puerto Rico. We are focusing on advocating and ensuring that Puerto Rican communities receive equal rights as U.S. citizens, as well as their right to preserve its culture and heritage.

Facts About Puerto Rico
Despite the fact that the U.S. Federal Government holds ultimate sovereignty over all U.S. citizens and the territory of Puerto Rico, residents of Puerto Rico (U.S. citizens since 1917) are without an effective voice in the Federal government.
The nature of Puerto Rico's political relationship with the United States is the subject of ongoing debate in Puerto Rico, the United States, the United Nations and the International Community.

Mourning & Resistance
Since at least 2016 an all-black rendition of the flag of Puerto Rico has been a symbol of Puerto Rican independence, resistance, and civil disobedience. A door at 55 Calle San José, painted with a mural depicting the traditional red, white, and blue Puerto Rican flag, had become a familiar image of Old San Juan.
